All Johnson Farm America, LLC products are handmade by me in my soap studio here on the farm.
Each bar of soap contains only natural ingredients and nothing is ever added.
Break away from store-bought items such as soaps and lotions that contain ingredients that we don’t need or may even be harmful. My soaps are made with ingredients like Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Mango Butter, Hempseed Oil, Goat Milk and more. All soaps react differently depending on the hardness of the water that you have at your home. A blend of oils and luxury butters are used, however, to get as close to a perfect bar of soap as possible. Every loaf produces 8-9 bars of soap. Each soap is colored with either natural clay colorants, charcoal, indigo or skin-safe micas. Fragrance oils, essential oils, or a blend of each are used. Natural fragrances such as Creosote/Chaparral and Juniper Berries are also used. These natural fragrances are collected by me in the desert and around the farm and are infused in grape seed oil. Grandma, Grandpa, and the Sunflowers
This sweet photo was taken in Pittsburg, Kansas, where I’m from, and it captures such an important part of who I am. In the picture, I’m a little girl standing with my grandma and grandpa, surrounded by the flowers and garden they loved so much. My grandma was born in 1889 and my grandpa in 1885, and both of them left a lasting mark on my life.
My grandma inspired my love of quilts, handmade beauty, and the comfort of simple things made with care. From her, I also learned so much about old-fashioned homemaking, tallow, canning, preserving, and making good use of what you had. Those lessons stayed with me and became part of the things I still value today.
My grandpa raised sunflowers, and I’ve always loved how they seemed to brighten everything around them. He also taught me how to play solitaire, one of those little memories that still makes me smile. And he loved a rare ribeye steak, a love that definitely got passed down to me.
When I look at this picture, I see more than just a childhood memory. I see the beginnings of so many things I still love today: quilts, old-fashioned skills, sunflowers, good food, and the quiet traditions passed down through family.
It’s a little glimpse of where I came from and of the people who helped shape who I became.
